How does the Rutgers at ACCC program work?

This program allows ACCC students to complete their first two years at ACCC, and upon completion of an Associate Degree, transfer up to 64 credits into a Rutgers University bachelor degree program. Rutgers will provide the upper level courses required to complete a Rutgers major on campus at ACCC.

Which Rutgers majors will be available at ACCC?

The following is a list of degree offerings for Fall 2006:
  • Liberal Studies
  • Hospitality Management (located at ACCC’s Atlantic City Campus)
Rutgers hopes to add additional degree programs in the future.

What are the admissions requirements for the Rutgers program at ACCC?

Admission to Liberal Studies Program at ACCC is open to all students who have completed an Associate Degree at an accredited college and who meet the admissions criteria of Rutgers University-Camden.
Applicants to the Hospitality Management program must have completed at least 45 college credits and have earned a 2.0 GPA. Exceptions will be considered on an individual basis after a review of prior work by the Academic Director and Rutgers Admissions.

How do I apply?

Applicants to the Rutgers-ACCC partnership should complete the standard Rutgers application found online here:
http://admissions.rutgers.edu. Choose the Atlantic Cape programs on Question 17 of the Undergraduate Application.

Can I enroll in ACCC and Rutgers courses at the same time?

Whether or not a student will be allowed to take additional credits at ACCC is a complex issue that will be determined in consultation with the Rutgers on-site advisor.

As a Rutgers student at ACCC, do I have the option of enrolling in classes at a Rutgers University main campus?

Rutgers off-campus programs are designed for students to complete all of their requirements locally at ACCC. And, as such, students are expected to complete all of their coursework there. In special cases, as determined by the Rutgers on-site advisor, students may be allowed to take a course at the Rutgers campus in Camden.

What will my diploma say?

This program consists of Rutgers courses, taught by Rutgers faculty and graded by the same Rutgers standards as all other Rutgers students. Our students at ACCC are earning a Rutgers University degree and will be granted a Rutgers University Camden diploma. There will be no mention of your matriculation in an off-campus program.
